1. Scope of this policy
One Tap Clean (below, “the app”, “we” or “us”) is an Android utility for clearing junk files, reviewing large files and screenshots, managing installed and running apps, tidying notifications, and reading device and battery status. This document describes the information involved when those features run, and what leaves your device when they do.
The starting principle is simple: scanning, selection and deletion are carried out on the handset wherever the platform allows it. Where a feature genuinely needs a network service — advertising, crash reporting, measurement — that is stated explicitly below.
2. What the app processes
2.1 Device and build information
For compatibility, diagnostics, measurement and advertising, the app or the SDKs bundled with it may read:
- Handset model, Android version, system language, region and time zone, screen metrics, network type, carrier and SIM ISO information.
- App build number, package name, install referrer, launch state, screens opened, controls tapped, feature entry points, durations, error codes, crash traces and performance samples.
- Advertising identifiers together with ad request, fill, impression, click, dismissal, failure and aggregated revenue events.
- Push registration tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging) used to deliver and manage notifications.
2.2 Files, media and storage
Once you grant access, Junk Clean, Large Files and Screenshot read storage metadata exposed by Android system APIs — names, sizes, dates, categories and counts. Those figures are rendered on screen and held on the device so you can review a list before acting on it. File bytes, thumbnails and complete paths are not transmitted to us.
2.3 Installed and running apps
App Manager and App Process read app names, icons, package identifiers, install dates, storage footprints and running state, within the limits the platform places on that data. This is what populates the manageable-apps list and the memory view. A full inventory of installed apps is not sent off the device; analytics records only the feature involved, the entry point used, and whether the action succeeded.
2.4 Notifications
Alert Blocker becomes active only after you switch on Notification Access in system settings. With that permission the app can see which app posted a notification, when it arrived, how many have accumulated, and whether it has been dismissed — enough to group and clear them locally. Notification bodies, attached images, message text and account details are not collected or uploaded, and the permission can be revoked at any time.
2.5 Preferences stored on the handset
Locally saved values include language choice, whether a permission walkthrough has been seen, rating-prompt state, widget state, notification style, the timestamp of the last prompt, current selections and interim scan results. These exist to keep the interface consistent and to avoid asking you the same question repeatedly.
3. Why we process it
- To run the core features: junk scanning, file review and deletion, screenshot tidy-up, app management, running-app review, notification organisation, device and battery status, home-screen widgets and ongoing notifications.
- To detect which permissions are granted, show the right guidance, and handle the case where you decline.
- To request, cache, present and measure advertising, and to react correctly when an ad fails to load.
- To deliver local, ongoing and push notifications.
- To understand which features are used and where errors occur, so defects can be found and fixed.
- To meet legal, store-policy and security obligations, and to deter abuse or fraudulent activity.
4. Permissions we ask for
Permissions are requested at the moment a feature needs them, never all at once on first launch.
- Storage / media access — locating, listing and removing junk files, large files and screenshots.
- Notification Access — reading, grouping and clearing notifications in Alert Blocker.
- Post notifications — showing reminders, results, the ongoing status bar entry and push messages.
- App and package information — listing apps, their sizes and their running state.
- Home-screen widget — placing and refreshing the storage widget.
Every one of these can be withdrawn in Android settings. Doing so disables the dependent feature; the app will show a reduced screen rather than fail.
5. Advertising and your choices
One Tap Clean is free and funded by advertising. You may encounter open-app, interstitial and native ad placements.
To serve, cap, measure and protect that advertising, the app and its ad SDKs may process device attributes, IP address, a coarse location inferred from the network, in-app activity, ad lifecycle events, diagnostics, and the Android Advertising ID where the device exposes one.
Whether the ads you see are personalised depends on your region, your device settings, the consent you have given and the partner configuration. In regions that require it, a consent flow is presented before advertising services are used, and your answer is stored and applied. You can also reset or delete your advertising identifier and opt out of personalised advertising through Android settings.

Each advertising partner handles the data it receives under its own privacy policy.
6. Third-party components
The following services are integrated to provide measurement, attribution, messaging, crash reporting and remote configuration:
- Google Firebase and Google Analytics for Firebase
- Firebase Cloud Messaging
- Google Play services
- Google AdMob
- Adjust
- Meta, AppLovin, Pangle, Mintegral, Liftoff
These components may process device and advertising identifiers, app metadata, ad and attribution events, crash reports and performance data under their own terms. They are configured to receive only what the corresponding feature requires.
7. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Information is disclosed only when:
- you have consented, or you have actively used a feature that requires it;
- it is necessary for advertising, measurement, attribution, messaging, crash analysis or remote configuration;
- a law, court order or regulator requires it, or it is needed to protect users, the public or ourselves;
- a merger, acquisition or transfer of assets occurs, in which case equivalent protection continues to apply.
8. Retention and deletion
- Scan results, selections and notification state live on the device.
- Interim scan data is discarded when the flow ends, when you leave the screen, once cleaning finishes, or when app data is cleared.
- Advertising, measurement, attribution, crash and configuration records may be retained by us or the relevant provider for as long as needed for that function, for security and for compliance.
- Clearing app data or uninstalling removes what is stored locally. For anything else, write to us.
9. Security
We limit what is uploaded, keep file and notification handling on the device wherever we can, avoid collecting sensitive detail, rely on the platform permission model, and restrict access through SDK and backend configuration. No transmission or storage method is completely secure, and keeping your device, account and permission settings safe remains your responsibility.
10. Children
One Tap Clean is a general-purpose utility and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly gather personal information from them. A parent or guardian who believes otherwise should contact us so the data can be removed.
11. Your controls
- Grant or revoke any permission in Android settings.
- Clear the app data, or uninstall the app entirely.
- Ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict information connected to the app.
- Manage your advertising identifier, personalised advertising and notification permissions at system level.
- Revisit your advertising consent where a consent option is offered in your region.
12. Changes and contact
This policy will be revised when features, SDKs, legal obligations or store policies change. The effective date at the top marks the current version, which is published in the app and on our website.
